Head to Spectrum Now Festival @ The Domain and check out the LDF pop-up’s specially created wall of affordable flash designs to get an on-the-spot, walk-up tattoo!

It’s a first come, first served old fashioned tattoo shop with two chairs available and Leslie Rice himself doing shifts throughout the festival.

Celebrating art in all forms, Leslie Rice, twice winner of the prestigious Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, finalist in the Archibald Prize several times and owner of LDF tattoo studios in Newtown and Marrickville, will be running the show. Stop by and get a vintage-inspired bespoke tattoo from one of the many designs specially created by Les and company for the festival.

‘”We’ve gone back to the ’30s and ’40s and found a bunch of images,” Rice says. “Some we’ll redraw, some we’ll re-imagine, but for the most part we stick to the time period.” The tattoos will be the size of a person’s palm or smaller and take about an hour for Rice and his fellow tattooists to create using tools based on the traditional coil tattoo machine.’ Read more of Leslie’s interview with Sydney Morning Herald about his appearance at Spectrum Now Festival here.

The Tattoo Parlour will be open from 6 – 9pm in The Domain (3 – 13 March).
